How to Speed Up Sun Broadband
How did I speed up Sun Broadband? Are you experiencing slow internet connection? Do you think about giving up? A lot of work to be done, yet your productivity is being hampered by slow internet connection? Now, stay relaxed, I will share everything I knew about how to increase or boost your broadband internet speed, particularly, the Sun Broadband.

There are two (2) ways to Boost Sun Broadband:
1. First, through Profile Configuration. By default, it has 5 profiles with respective dynamic settings.
Dynamic IP’s (Internet Protocol) and dynamic DNS’s (Domain Name System). It means that every time we use it, it will always search for whatever available IP’s DNS’s. The reason that most of the time it cannot give us the best performance we wanted.
To Boost Sun Broadband we need to add “new profile” and use a static DNS. The free one from Google. Static DNS help boost Sun Broadband because it will not seek for available DNS anymore since it’s already there. The remaining job it has to do, is to find only an IP address. It is less job, faster broadband. How to do it? Just follow the steps below.

- Disconnect first your Sun Broadband
- Go to “Tools” then “Options”
- Click “Profile Management” then “NEW”
- Input everything as is, as what the images shown below
If you followed the instructions correctly, you should experience a slight improvements of your internet connection. How about the second method?
2. It is through RAS (Remote Access Service) modem and NDIS (Network Driver Interface Specification) options.
By default RAS modem is selected change it to NDIS. If you are connected to internet using RAS modem, the icon looks like you are connected via DSL. While NDIS resembles as if you are connected to a WIFI connection. In my research NDIS is more stable against RAS modem in terms of signal transmission. However, RAS modem has the edge in terms of networking capability. Therefore, NDIS is appropriate in BOOSTING SUN BROADBAND. A simple guide below will surely help you.
RAS modem NDIS
- Disconnect your Sun Broadband
- Go to “Tools”, “Options” then “General”
- Select “NDIS”
There you have it, you just completed the two ways of boosting your broadband. I believe at this point you are now having a better online experience. If you are still having a trouble, proceed below.

Boost Sun Broadband Connection’s Ultimate Guide
In this method, you need to input commands in command prompt as we optimize your MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) and Autotuning. Hmm? Sounds difficult but it’s not. Everything will be provided by me. So let’s get started.
- Go to “Start”, “All Programs” and “Accessories“
- Right click “Command Prompt“.
- Run it “As Administrator“.
- In “Windows Command Prompt Window” type “netsh interface ipv4 show subinterface” to show your “Broadband’s Network Connection and MTU value“. The default MTU is usually 1500, we will change it to 1453 to make it optimized.
- To do it type, “netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface “Your Network Connection” mtu=1453 store=persistent.
Note: My network connection is “Mobile Broadband Connection”, as you can see in the image below, yours may be different.
- Then, let’s proceed to checking your autotuning’s settings by typing “netsh int tcp show global” If the value is disabled or normal, set it to high, by typing this command “netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=high“
Finished? The tutorials above will surely help improve your broadband’s internet connection. Personally, I followed everthing in this post with no issues. The first two method will help you boost your Sun Broadband. Then the ultimate tweak will add a slight increase in your internet connection plus it will stabilize the connection of your Sun Broadband.

Hi. Im using sun pocket wifi also but i still dont get your convo with ms. kat. Can you please explain it to me further? thank you
I.C Tiempo says
Hi Jen,we are talking about DNS that is located in your network settings properties, for more info, please check this; Computer Networks Beginner’s guide.

It took me a while but this really works! My broadband loads faster now. This is really legit! Thank you again sir! 🙂
Have to go back and comment cause it really helped me. 🙂

Do you have any settings for wifi pocket too? I also am having problem with the settings.
Software version: WEB_SUNPHMF65MV1.0.0B01
Firmware version:
BD_SUNPHNLMF65MV1.0.0B01

Hi Kat, can you tell me on what settings that you are having issues?
Kat says
what i did is only option 3. doesn’t seem to work. there is no “new profile option” and so as the “NDIS” word into any of the tabs. i looked every tab. or im not looking harder? please help 🙁
kat says
What i only have is router settings then these:
Ip address
Subnet mask
DHCP server
DHCP IP tool
DHCP lease time
Am i doing it wrong?
I.C. Tiempo says
Hello Kat, Pocket WiFi works as a router. So, you are having almost the same configuration with DSL, except that your connection is wireless not wired. I would suggest to change your DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 202.67.222.222 or 202.67.220.220 via your Network settings. To get you started you may read Computer Network Beginner’s Guide.

Hi sir wen i type “netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface “Your Network Connection” mtu=1453 store=persistent
It says that “Your’ is not recognized as an internal operable program or batch file. Please help thanks
I.C. Tiempo says
Hello rhickrocks, please type netsh interface ipv4 show subinterface, it show your network connection. In my case Mobile Network Connection is my connection. So type netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface “type your network connection here” mtu=1453 store=persistent. Please see the image in Boost Sun Broadband Connection’s Ultimate Guide..thank you…
john ;paul says
Sir what do you mean by “type your network connection here” ?
I.C Tiempo says
Hi John paul, what I mean is that, after you execute the command “netsh interface ipv4 show subinterface”, you will see your network connection type. Take a look at the second to the last image of this post. As you can see the connection type is “Mobile Broadband Connection”. Now, let’s go to the last image, have you noticed that I marked the network connection type with a red outline? So, it means that “type your network connection here” should be replaced by your own network connection type.
