How to Speed Up Sun Broadband
How did I speed up Sun Broadband? Are you experiencing slow internet connection? Do you think about giving up? A lot of work to be done, yet your productivity is being hampered by slow internet connection? Now, stay relaxed, I will share everything I knew about how to increase or boost your broadband internet speed, particularly, the Sun Broadband.

There are two (2) ways to Boost Sun Broadband:
1. First, through Profile Configuration. By default, it has 5 profiles with respective dynamic settings.
Dynamic IP’s (Internet Protocol) and dynamic DNS’s (Domain Name System). It means that every time we use it, it will always search for whatever available IP’s DNS’s. The reason that most of the time it cannot give us the best performance we wanted.
To Boost Sun Broadband we need to add “new profile” and use a static DNS. The free one from Google. Static DNS help boost Sun Broadband because it will not seek for available DNS anymore since it’s already there. The remaining job it has to do, is to find only an IP address. It is less job, faster broadband. How to do it? Just follow the steps below.

- Disconnect first your Sun Broadband
- Go to “Tools” then “Options”
- Click “Profile Management” then “NEW”
- Input everything as is, as what the images shown below
If you followed the instructions correctly, you should experience a slight improvements of your internet connection. How about the second method?
2. It is through RAS (Remote Access Service) modem and NDIS (Network Driver Interface Specification) options.
By default RAS modem is selected change it to NDIS. If you are connected to internet using RAS modem, the icon looks like you are connected via DSL. While NDIS resembles as if you are connected to a WIFI connection. In my research NDIS is more stable against RAS modem in terms of signal transmission. However, RAS modem has the edge in terms of networking capability. Therefore, NDIS is appropriate in BOOSTING SUN BROADBAND. A simple guide below will surely help you.
RAS modem NDIS
- Disconnect your Sun Broadband
- Go to “Tools”, “Options” then “General”
- Select “NDIS”
There you have it, you just completed the two ways of boosting your broadband. I believe at this point you are now having a better online experience. If you are still having a trouble, proceed below.

Boost Sun Broadband Connection’s Ultimate Guide
In this method, you need to input commands in command prompt as we optimize your MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) and Autotuning. Hmm? Sounds difficult but it’s not. Everything will be provided by me. So let’s get started.
- Go to “Start”, “All Programs” and “Accessories“
- Right click “Command Prompt“.
- Run it “As Administrator“.
- In “Windows Command Prompt Window” type “netsh interface ipv4 show subinterface” to show your “Broadband’s Network Connection and MTU value“. The default MTU is usually 1500, we will change it to 1453 to make it optimized.
- To do it type, “netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface “Your Network Connection” mtu=1453 store=persistent.
Note: My network connection is “Mobile Broadband Connection”, as you can see in the image below, yours may be different.
- Then, let’s proceed to checking your autotuning’s settings by typing “netsh int tcp show global” If the value is disabled or normal, set it to high, by typing this command “netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=high“
Finished? The tutorials above will surely help improve your broadband’s internet connection. Personally, I followed everthing in this post with no issues. The first two method will help you boost your Sun Broadband. Then the ultimate tweak will add a slight increase in your internet connection plus it will stabilize the connection of your Sun Broadband.

Sir I have a zte mf65 sun pocket wifi. I need help coz I cant find the dns setting there to enter the google dns settings
I.C Tiempo says
Hello Mike, please go to “control panel” -> Under Network & Internet click “view network status and tasks” -> “change adapter settings” -> right click “Local Area Connection” -> “Properties” -> select “internet protocol version 4”-> “properties” -> select “use the following DNS server addresses” ->Then type the google DNS. You can input two sets of DNS,such as 8.8.8.8 as your preferred DNS and 8.8.4.4 as your alternative DNS but having one is fine. For more info you can visit Computer Networks: Begginer’s Guide and How to solve DNS Server Not Responding Error.

Hello Junie, you are most welcome. Am glad too that you found this tutorial “how to boost sun broadband” helpful. You can also try this method on Smart and Globe though the UI (user interface) aren’t the same but this must works as well.

Sir…. What will I type to “your network connection” if I’m using sun broadband?
I.C Tiempo says
Hello Christian, after typing “netsh interface ipv4 show subinterface” you will see your “Broadband’s Network Connection and MTU value”. In my sample I have 1500 MTU value and and “Mobile Network Connection” as my network connection.

Hi I.C, my dashboard is not the same as the example shown here. When I tried to log in here: http://192.168.0.1/index.html#setting, I can not change the network setting because it was disabled even after I disconnect from the network.
I.C Tiempo says
Hi Maricel, it seems that you are using a pocket WiFi? Try first to change your DNS, please see the advise that I gave to Gary just above your comment.
Maricel says
Hi I.C, yes I’m using pocket WiFi. . I tried to change my DNS and used 202.67.220.220 but I can’t connect to my internet; It will give a message, “limited access”. I followed everything in “Computer Network Beginner’s Guide”, – I still can’t connect. I’m trying to figure where I went wrong? Need your help, please! (Sorry,I’m not so techie!) 🙂
I.C Tiempo says
Hi Maricel, thank you for coming back. It seems your pocket WiFi is the issue. Have you tried to connect other devices with your pocket WiFi? Try also to bring it to your friend’s house and let their device connect to it, let me know the result.

Hi..i have a Sun pocket WiFi ZTE Model MF65M.. I cannot find step 1 and 2 on my settings so I’m just trying the 3rd step..i followed all the command and running in administrator but its giving a error message mtu is not a valid argument for this command. The syntax supplied in this command is not valid..please help..
I.C Tiempo says
Hello Gary, By default Pocket WiFi is already set to NDIS. Regarding the syntax error, please type it slowly but surely including the spaces. Try also to change your DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 202.67.222.222 or 202.67.220.220 via your Network settings. To get you started you may read Computer Network Beginner’s Guide.

I’m using pocket WiFi ZTE how can I boost the download speed? I’m using an iPad mini 2, I wanted to download grand theft auto san Andreas from appcake, I downloaded it the last time but it took me 3 days it was like 10-15kbps . Now can you help me please so i can download faster
I.C Tiempo says
Hi Renz, it seems your issue is the download-data capping. All Broadband companies are practicing this, everytime you hit the limit, your speed will throttle down to 2G speed.
