There are two (2) ways to Boost Sun Broadband:
1. First, through Profile Configuration. By default, it has 5 profiles with respective dynamic settings.
Dynamic IP’s (Internet Protocol) and dynamic DNS’s (Domain Name System). It means that every time we use it, it will always search for whatever available IP’s DNS’s. The reason that most of the time it cannot give us the best performance we wanted.
To Boost Sun Broadband we need to add “new profile” and use a static DNS. The free one from Google. Static DNS help boost Sun Broadband because it will not seek for available DNS anymore since it’s already there. The remaining job it has to do, is to find only an IP address. It is less job, faster broadband. How to do it? Just follow the steps below.

- Disconnect first your Sun Broadband
- Go to “Tools” then “Options”
- Click “Profile Management” then “NEW”
- Input everything as is, as what the images shown below
If you followed the instructions correctly, you should experience a slight improvements of your internet connection. How about the second method?
2. It is through RAS (Remote Access Service) modem and NDIS (Network Driver Interface Specification) options.
By default RAS modem is selected change it to NDIS. If you are connected to internet using RAS modem, the icon looks like you are connected via DSL. While NDIS resembles as if you are connected to a WIFI connection. In my research NDIS is more stable against RAS modem in terms of signal transmission. However, RAS modem has the edge in terms of networking capability. Therefore, NDIS is appropriate in BOOSTING SUN BROADBAND. A simple guide below will surely help you.
RAS modem NDIS
- Disconnect your Sun Broadband
- Go to “Tools”, “Options” then “General”
- Select “NDIS”
There you have it, you just completed the two ways of boosting your broadband. I believe at this point you are now having a better online experience. If you are still having a trouble, proceed below.

Boost Sun Broadband Connection’s Ultimate Guide
In this method, you need to input commands in command prompt as we optimize your MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) and Autotuning. Hmm? Sounds difficult but it’s not. Everything will be provided by me. So let’s get started.
- Go to “Start”, “All Programs” and “Accessories“
- Right click “Command Prompt“.
- Run it “As Administrator“.
- In “Windows Command Prompt Window” type “netsh interface ipv4 show subinterface” to show your “Broadband’s Network Connection and MTU value“. The default MTU is usually 1500, we will change it to 1453 to make it optimized.
- To do it type, “netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface “Your Network Connection” mtu=1453 store=persistent.
Note: My network connection is “Mobile Broadband Connection”, as you can see in the image below, yours may be different.
- Then, let’s proceed to checking your autotuning’s settings by typing “netsh int tcp show global” If the value is disabled or normal, set it to high, by typing this command “netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=high“
Finished? The tutorials above will surely help improve your broadband’s internet connection. Personally, I followed everthing in this post with no issues. The first two method will help you boost your Sun Broadband. Then the ultimate tweak will add a slight increase in your internet connection plus it will stabilize the connection of your Sun Broadband.

Why in my sun packet wifi 4G but when I use it, it is just 3G? Why? Is this fake that’s why I have a slow connection?.
I.C Tiempo says
Hi Grace, you have a genuine Sun Broadband pocket Wifi. However, to have 4G connection, it will highly depend on your location. You should ask the nearest Sun Broadband office in your area. Please also take note that Sun Broadband has a capping or download data limit. Once you reach the limit your connection will be throttle down to 2G connection.
Grace says
It’s just a waste of load. Sun broadband please improve your service. I though 4G will be fast but I am disappointed, the connection is very slow. No problem with the signal, we are in second floor, the real issue is the Sun broadband slow internet connection.
I.C Tiempo says
Hi Grace, I respect your sentiments, it’s your right anyway. If I were you, get a DSL connection like what I did. DSL is faster with no capping. If you are on-the-go, just load your phone via prepaid mobile internet. Because we can do nothing about Sun Broadband internet speed issues, its their discretion. It started after Smart bought Sun Broadband.
This article is intended only on how to strengthen signal and also how to speed up Sun broadband, if the issue is on the user’s end. However, if the problem is on Sun Broadband service, then, this doesn’t apply.

Sir Why my Sun Pocket wifi is slow even though we are in 20 floor condominium here in mandaluyong manila area
I.C Tiempo says
Hello Earlwen, If you have a good signal considering the height of your residence, it could be that you shared your Sun Pocket WiFi with many devices. Another reason might be, you already reached your monthly bandwidth limit the reason why your internet connection throttled down to 2G speed.
